style
in the hedonistic world of my personal fashion sense, “gap” is giving way to a new kind of style. the “zara” kind. basics still have their place in my wardrobe. but i’m a grown-up now. i’m allowed to buy something because it looks “designer.”

interesting tidbits about design at zara: their stock is constantly rotating. it can take as little as 2 weeks for them to design-create-stock something and if something isn’t selling, it’s taken off the floor in a week or so. this means they don’t outsource to sweatshops in china for most of their stock. it also means their clothing is a bit more trendy, but still very grown-up. it also means that every time you visit, there’s almost entirely new stock. they don’t advertise because they don’t have to. it’s just so much fun to go see what’s in.
i feel like h&m and topshop also fit into this new-found category of personal expression.
